Beaver Creek Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Hagerstown, Maryland.
Beaver Creek Country Club's golf course was built in 1959 in a traditional layout.
Nestled under Black Rock and the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western Maryland. The course terrain features gentle hills and rolls, few blind shots, and cuts through tall oaks and stands of white pine, providing a challenge for golfers of all levels. The greens appear innocent, but have some deceptive slopes. Holes 16, 17 and 18 are the best finishing holes in the state of Maryland according to many who play this course. If you're up for a challenge, Beaver Creek will test your skills.

In my opinion, the one part of any course that must be well kept are the greens. Beaver Creek is failing in that regard. The greens had been aerated a few weeks ago and they have not recovered. Also, one of their mowers leaked oil on several of the greens, so that won't help matters. There were also too many bare patches.

Our group of travelling seniors played here 5-5-09 for $32, a very good rate.
Beaver Creek is a very nice golf facility, with a fairly new clubhouse. Design is uncomplicated, but optimizes the use of the terrain, with a fair amount of elevation change. No two holes look exactly alike, and there are only a few with parallel routing. Mature trees abound, and add to the scenery, and the challenge, as some of the fairways are pretty tight. Some holes are deisgned such that it is not good enough to be in the fairway off the tee, you must be on the correct side of the fairway to have a shot. Very thoughtful of the architect!
The course is 50 years old, and some of the features reflect that: smallish tee boxes and greens, relatively few bunkers.
Conditions today were excellent, especially in light of the several days of rain which only let up last night: fairways were firm, and only the bunkers had any great amount of water. Greens had been aerated about ten days ago, and were still pretty lumpy and bumpy. Otherwise, the course was in fine shape.
Pro shop is small but well stocked, and the staff was very welcoming. 19th hole is quite nice, well staffed, and with reasonable prices. Overall, we give Beaver Creek a thumbs up and recommend it.
